Drip cooling for sows in farrowing
Stress in sows, caused by high summer temperatures, can be reduced by using a system that continuously drips water onto the animal's neck/shoulder area during farrowing.
Temperatures above 30 ºC decrease the efficiency of the sow's feeding - and milk production - consequently affecting the growth of lactating piglets.
